Renowned fundraising copywriter and my newest BFF, Lisa Sargent, had a great tweak recently

@lisasargent2 Wait. Those stupid, automated messages tweeted to me after I follow someone are supposed to make me feel special? They do not:

Does this describe your Thank You letters and emails? Hopefully, you’re not using the same Thank You letter for months at a time. Or the letter is so generic that your donors are unsure if it actually applies to them.

In order for a Thank You to accomplish its desired result, it must be real, personal and heart felt. Like Lisa said, a Thank You is supposed to make you feel special.

There is nothing special about the Robo approach!
